The story follows a group of teens in a pre-planned community that feel alienated and abandoned by adult society, which in turn seems terrified of them. Their conflict escalates over the course of the film into a spectacular clash. A fifteen year old Matt Dillon makes his debut in the film, along with a cast of unknown teenage actors.
"That movie pretty much defined my whole personality," said Kurt Cobain of the film, which he claimed as his favorite. "It was really cool. Total anarchy."
The soundtrack is pretty good, heavy with Cheap Trick, but also Hendrix, the Cars, Van Halen, and the Ramones.
