Prior to the game, we had a lovely dinner at DaVinci with some wonderful friends who came all the way out to South Philly to see us and brought some excellent wine to boot. DaVinci, which is in Tre Scalini's old building, was doing the Philly Neighborhood Food Week, so that had a marvelous four course prix-fixe dinner for $30. The stars of the night were these big ricotta gnocchi, pan fried in a truffle cream sauce so gorgeous we were mopping every last bit of it up with bread. We also indulged in insalata caprese, ravioli with spinach, more traditional gnoccis, and some lovely veal, chicken, and rock fish meat for the meat course. Dessert was all about the limoncello tartufo, a sort of lemon sorbet with limoncello cream. So good!
