Then on Sunday, we went to Kennett Square, the self-proclaimed "mushroom capital of the world," for their annual Mushroom Festival. No, not that kind of mushroom, sadly. We ate mushroom spring rolls, cheese fries with mushroom gravy, grilled portabella, and a steak and mushroom sandwich from the Brown Derby's booth which was really exceptional. There was live music, amusement rides, the unescapable crafts & tschotschkes booths, and of course lots of mushrooms. We went home with some baby portabellas, trumpets and oysters that we'll turn into some mushroom soup some night this week. Yum!
