Inspired by actual events....  
I was debating with a friend yesterday about the ramifications of modeling your fictional characters after real people in your life. Personally, I see nothing wrong with it.

In fact, all of you are now characters in my book.

And you are all behaving appallingly. Well done!

I guess the only rule is to not be a bitch about it.
One of my friends has a mom in a Margaret Atwood book.
The bitchy part is that it was published shortly after his mother died, and she is a bad character,
complete with lots of descriptions about how other characters disliked her mannerisms, etc.
