Of the two Bond girls, one felt amateurishly shoehorned into the story and the other, while kind of cool, was such damaged goods emotionally that even James didn't seem turned on by her. The big battle at the end was pretty hard to swallow given what an amazing hand-to-hand fighter they'd already shown Bond to be. And the most interesting plot thread of all, about who actually betrayed James in the last film, was rendered in such a muddled, confusing fashion that I was left scratching my head until K. explained it to me.
Daniel Craig is still great in the role though and I'm sure he'll do a fine job when they give him a better script. Fortunately I happened to catch the sleep-inducing Live and Let Die this weekend, which is at best a minor footnote in the history of blaxploitation flicks, and helped me keep in mind how bad a really bad Bond film can be.
ETA: And where was my Star Trek trailer!?!?!
