debating desserts
A pineapple found its way into our house yesterday, so I think I might try my hand at a pineapple upside down cake. Although, I don't know whether to do the traditional skillet version or an easier baked one. Of course, before it showed up, I was also planning to make peanut butter oatmeal cookies. Hmmmm.... decisions, decisions.....

if one were to make a chart depicting the ratio of ease-of-creation to eating-joy, pineapple upside down cake would sit atop that chart. soooo easy. soooo delicious. just bake it - the pan version isn't worth the extra effort.

Excellent! I will test that theory out.

I say have your cake and eat your cookies too.

But where on earth is it traditional to make pineapple upside down cake in a skillet? I've only ever seen them baked in pans.

I suspect I'll do both.

I think the skillet is the old fashioned way. Like you totally carmelize the pineapples over the stove and then add the batter and then put the skillet in the oven.

I guess my grandmas are less traditional than I figured. :P

Is it the way she's holding her arms?

I think so, it makes her appear to be super strong and like she could beat me down..
