old milk
Did I mention I'm going to see the Dead Milkmen on saturday? I can't wait. It's been twenty years since I've seen them last. I was in high school. Should be weird.

In other news, my Chicken Pot Pie recipe was featured today on my buddy Yoko's cooking blog Spilt Wine and Sticky Rice.

I thought the Milkmen disbanded years ago. I can't imagine seeing a concert now.. would've loved it 15 years ago.

Yeah, this show is like the warm up for an official reunion at some festival somewhere.

Awesome that you're going to see the Milkmen. I'll bet they still rock.

"Everybody knows a burrow owl lives in a hole, in the ground, why the hell do you think they call it a burrow owl, anyways?"

Haha... I recited that whole Burrow Owl bit to K. while walking home from the movies the other day and she thought I was having some kind of seizure.

One of my standard responses to being drunk in college was to recite the whole thing, sometimes accompanied by the people around me who knew it-this could get dicey at parties where the listeners didn't realize it was from a song, or a joke, and who just thought I was a homophobe.

Yeah, they were never too worried about appearing politically correct.

I like you, Stuart...you're not like the other people...here...in the trailer park...

In other news, my sister's really moving up in the world...she dates a full blown professor...

I could happily sleep my way to the top if only the people on the top just weren't so darn unattractive...

You know what, Stuart? I like you.
You're not like the other people, here, in the trailer park.

Interesting that you didn't feature a Punk Rock Girl in today's picture.

I guess there aren't a lot of Wayback punkers.

I could have done a picture of Minnie Pearl, I suppose...

I... I thought the singer was dead. Within the past 3 years or so. Am I thinking of someone else?

Nope, they're all still kicking. Although I wouldn't put it past them to have spread a false rumor like that.

You were right. Not one of the singers (Joe and Rodney are still fine), but their origianl bassist is dead.

Dave "Blood" Schulthise left music following the break-up of the band. He briefly attended Indiana University, moved to Serbia in the middle of that country's civil war, returned to Philadelphia and started working as a janitor. He killed himself in 2004.
