The trip down to DC was silly. Four hours on the train for two hours of meeting, only an hour of which was potentially relevant. But I got some reading done and more importantly I learned the album 69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields is exactly the right length to last the entire round trip train journey between Philadelphia and Washington DC. And to just beat all, the song on the album that's actually about taking the train to Washington DC even starts playing as you're approaching the outskirts of the city.
Washington, D.C., it fits me to a T
It's not the people doing something real
It's not the way the springtime makes you feel, no no no
It ain't no famous name on a golden plaque
that makes me ride that railroad track
It's my baby's kiss that keeps me coming back
It's my baby's kiss that keeps me coming back
