Did I mention that I quit my fitness regime at the end of July? Yeah... and it's starting to show. I'm not sure exactly how much damage the last two months have done though because the battery in our cheap digital scale fused itself into its housing and even after K. successfully pried it out, the scale was uninterested in new energy sources.

Now that the weather has cooled off, I'm thinking about starting up the walking to and/or from work again. I think I'll test that interest by walking to the bar tonight after work.

If it makes you feel any better, I have gone back on my health goals and gone back to the sweet embrace of mountain dew. All it took was one persistent cold to make me cave in for a whole week.

Gah, this week long cold I'm fighting has me drinking Vernors. Haven't had any soda for months.

Hey, does Diet Mt Dew have the same effect on you as regular? I made the switch (mostly) and find the Diet stuff doesn't whack me nearly the same amount as regular. And the taste is almost the same, if you ignore the after taste! (or chew gum, post).

I'm thinking of getting an exercise bike. Then I'm thinking of using it for an hour early in the morning before I start for work. I am a little concerned that this might be how people give themselves heart attacks, tho.

If you're anything like most people I know, you'll get an exercise bike and then use it to hang clothes on...

Yeah, I'm a little worried by the sheer number of people I know that do just that :(

Two weeks post-op have turned me back into fluff-boy, for the time being. Hopefully, though, I can start swimming as soon as the incision closes up for good.

Swimming would be nice. If I had access to a pool or some natural body of water, I would swim all the time.

It really is the best exercise (despite everyone saying it is the best exercise). Besides, water is fun.

Start walking again, not cuz it's "good" for you but because you enjoy it. If you don't enjoy it, find something else. And hey, consider how quickly your body adapted to becoming sedentary. It'll adapt to higher levels of activity just as fast. Yeah, maybe it won't extend your life by much, but it'll increase the quality of your life beyond the effort you put into it.
