Nah, you can keep the whip, I'll keep my idol
I'm not going to see the new Indiana Jones movie. After letting George Lucas's prequels screw with my fond memories of the original Star Wars trilogy, I can't risk the same thing happening with Indy. I just loved the original Raiders too much to do it. Even the trailer for this new one bores and annoys me. How much worse must the movie itself be? I'll just stick to the adventures I imagined him having.

But that puts me into a bit of a pickle, because I really want to see a movie this weekend. Meh... I think I'll just see Speed Racer again.

I sort of agree, but the last two Speilberg-directed movies I saw (War of the Worlds and The Terminal) were pretty awful too.

I hate Shia LeBeouf.

He only knows one line anyway.

Ha! Great youtube vid!

The movie was okay. I *had* to see it. To wrap up the series (hopefully). Can't say much more without spoiling it but, I think it was good enough to see again with friends (of course, they're really good friends, with whom I *might* even consider a ...Woody Allen film!!!)

I wish I had your integrity on this. I am so curious, and so don't want to hear it second hand, that I want to check it out, even though the amount of CG in the trailers and the reviews from people I trust have not been kind.

Well, it helps that I know you'll see it for me and write one of your excellent, detailed reviews.

Aww shucks. Thanks man. :)

I saw it last night, it was fun. The 'little green men' take was kinda silly, and Cate Blanchett's accent slipped a few times, but it was still entertaining. I read the remaining members of the Russian Communist party blasted it calling Cate a 'second-rate actress' and referred to it as if it was supposed to be an historical documentary. Guess those clowns are even dumber than I thought...

After fifty years of Hollywood vs. the communists, you'd think they'd have thicker skin.

I don't want to see it either. My roomates went last night and said it was horrible.

First of all - the model in that photo looks a lot like Summer Glau, which gives me a serious geekgasm.

I am going to Indy this afternoon but with low expectations. Monkey, if you need a film, this is playing at most indie houses in the US and is supposedly quite entertaining:
