So, my favorite show of the new season starts tonight (8:00 on ABC):
It's an amazingly charming bit of magical realism, very much in the spirit of Wonderfalls and Big Fish. I want to tell you exactly what it's about, but doing so would cheat you out of too much. Just trust me, it will both warm and wrench your heart. I've already watched it twice and I can't wait to watch it again.
It's created by Bryan Fuller (who made the excellent Wonderfalls series) and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld (The Addams Family). It stars Lee Pace (Wonderfalls), Chi McBride (Boston Public), Kristin Chenoweth (West Wing), and Anna Friel (who I'm actually not familiar with). Plus Ellen Greene and Swoosie Kurtz in supporting roles. Oh, and the narrator is apparently the guy who does the Harry Potter audio books if that means anything to you.
