a faceless man in a subterranean bunker is now in control of my air supply
During the weekend, building management came in and changed the ventilation system. We now have a smooth plastic thermostat with no controls whatsoever on it and deafeningly loud fans directly over our desks that blow stale air at us constantly even when the air conditioning isn't going. So, it's no longer possible to converse at an ordinary volume and it's impossible to shut it off. Fantastic!

Foot injuries
That chick really should be wearing some good hiking shoes.

Re: Foot injuries
I would give her a ride on my shoulders!

Lyme disease...yeah. Not good. As someone who *might* have been exposed to it, check for ticks whenever you come in from where they could live. And use some DEET, on your shoes and socks if nothing else.

Good job on the weight! I did some serious biking this past weekend(for me...) and have firmed up somewhat. Pants fit better!

And the issue really isn't just hiking with bare feet, but think also about the larger surface area a tick has here to land on. It's a recipe for Lyme's Disease-related disaster. And what good will her hot naked bod be to her then, I ask?

...at the very least, she's bound to get ringworm.

Oooh, ringworm. I forgot about ringworm. In nature, I tend to overfocus on the bloodsucking parasite that is the tick.

Thanks, pal! Up til today, I wasn't 100% sure I was losing anything because of the daily five pound fluctuation, but today there can be no doubt.
