For the past year the hand I move my computer mouse with has been getting really warm. Not sweaty, just uncomfortably warm. Even when I make an effort to reduce the number of contact points between my hand and the mouse, it still bugs me. It's gotten annoying enough that I've got two mice on my desk now so that I can switch back and forth. It's probably just a mild OCD thing, but its weird. When I was younger I had a similar obsession about the pillows in my bed, constantly flipping them to the cooler side. I remember once thinking how easilly I could be tortured by someone not allowing me to flip my pillow. Do I really have the time for any new compulsions in my life?

Weird. I find my mouse hand gets super cold.

Interesting. Must have to do with circulation.

That makes me wonder if it has to do with the height of my mousing surface. Would my hand be cooler if I lowered my chair?

I used to think I was the only person whgo liked the cool part of the pillow until I saw a comedian doing a bit about it.

It's simply the best part of the pillow.

When I first started dating my girlfriend she had flannel pillowcases. There was no cool side to be had!

Blood circulation/chi/energy/whatever. Every since I got a track ball (Logitech's Marble mouse) I've noticed the same thing.

Do you hold the mouse lightly and ergonomically? (IE without you wrist touching the desk/pad)

Awesome pix by the way. You should focus non-productive OCD energy into finding more! Hey do you take picture submissions?

My arm is completely resting on the surface of the desk when I'm using the mouse. That's bad, eh?

And thanks! Submissions can't be sent to:

I used to do the pillow thing too, when I was little. Haven't in forever, and hadn't thought of it in forever. Still slide cool hair between my fingers and my face though, wish I would have outgrown that one instead, because it probably look sillier. :P

My six year-old informed me that he wants a "cooling element" in his pillow so that he doesn't have to flip it.

They could make a pillow full of that blue gel they use in icepacks. But you'd have to keep it in the freezer (or at least the fridge) during the day. Something like this...

Wholly crap! I just remembered something! When I was "little" a friend of mine gave me a milk bag (his family got milk in these 2.5gal tough plastic bags). My house didn't have a/c, so I would fill the bag up with cold water, put it in the refrigerator and then sleep on it with a towel over the top. It was great!

Did you ever hurt yourself on the spigot?

Nope! So restful I barely moved while sleep.

I still flip the pillow. I also "wipe" bad dreams off my pillow after I wake up from them.
