unmotivated in the extreme

Between the gloomy weather, getting over a cold, film festival exhaustion, and annoyance with my family, I seem to have sunken into either a malaise or a funk. I'd prefer to think of it as a funk, because then my mind can drift off a little to imagine a fat baseline, a hammond organ and a popping horn section.

Either way though, I have to force myself to start writing again. I haven't really done anything on the book for a couple of weeks and I can feel my will to write decaying like a sticky, hollow tooth in the back of my mouth.
