crazy talk
You know how in movies, people sometimes have imaginary conversations with their deceased loved ones? Eleven days into my girlfriend's trip to Malaysia, I've started doing that. My friends say that means I've gone crazy, but it seems perfectly normal to me.

(Of course my friends were also picturing conversations like "Hal Jordan, the ring has chosen you to replace me as Green Lantern of space sector 2814." "I won't let you down, Abin Sur!" And that's not the case.)

I guess it's a little odd that I speak both parts of the conversation, but I do a pretty dead-on impression of her (at least to my satisfaction). I don't think it's any stranger than my imaginary dog Peanut.

Poll #892400 crazy?

Am I crazy for having imaginary conversations with my vacationing girlfriend?

No, of course not, dear. Here, have another cup of tea.

Yes, but you were more than likely crazy even before she left.
9(27.3%)
It depends. Are you sure your girlfriend even exists? You didn't kill her, did you?
2(6.1%)
Stop lying. Everyone knows I'm the Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814, damn it!!!

Tell me more about this... "Peanut"

I dunno... I talk to myself all the time, but I only have conversations with myself or inanimate objects (computer, tv, car, etc.), never with absent loved ones. In light of this evidence, I'm gonna go ahead and diagnose you as "pretty whacked."

Are you going out at night, or are you just sitting home by yourself? I used to have imaginary conversations with people I knew all the time, before I became dull, witless, and full of despair. Ask me what *we* talked about some day!

I've been pretty social, going out a few nights a week, but those hours alone in the house still add up.

I still say it's a healthy sign of an active and intriguing imagination.

Am I crazy for wanting to hear you do an impression of K?

Nah, but there's a chance that actually hearing it might be enough to make you go crazy!

Re: Not exactly the same thing
Peanut's going to get a swelled head. And an entry all about him some time this week.

Re: Not exactly the same thing
Does Peanut talk to you, or do you just talk to him?

A talking dog, now that is really crazy...

Re: Not exactly the same thing
Well he doesn't talk exactly. But he makes lots of normal dog sounds.

And... well... sometimes he sends text messages.

Re: Not exactly the same thing
Oh, that is fine. Everyone knows that dogs can text.

I'll start worrying when you begin talking to Gingersnap.
