And a little child shall rock them....
Three birthdays this weekend. First a seven-course Chinese feast, double-birthday celebration with the librarian crowd on friday. Then a barbeque-and-pizza kid birthday party at Chez dynamine. I was a little worried about gettting a two year old a 30 inch acoustic guitar (about the same height as him), but he took right to it. He was playing it lap-style, totally absorbed in strumming away, and loving the sounds he was making. We even got him to associate the word "Rock!" with the guitar and to make devil horns when people applaud his playing. So, very successful to my way of thinking.

Haha, that's a great gift. I like that he can do the devil horns. :D

he is still rather enamoured of your gift!! he's been playing off and on since saturday. i showed him how to wear the strap properly, so he can walk about a bit with it on....well, until he gets stuck somewhere, that is.

thank you so much, again...what a rad gift! i've been taking videos of him playing and singing, and they're just killing me.

Hmmm... a new You Tube phenom? I think so.

What a great gift!

Last year I bought a miniature accordion for my short person (now six years old) and quickly learned that wire fox terriers will "sing" along if you play it or any other musical instrument. It's funny, but not as cool as a guitar-playing two year old throwing horns. (:

Yeah, Darwin knows to "throw the horns!" and shout "Rock and Roll!" whenever he's playing..but he's mostly a drum kid so far. One of these days I'm going to pick my guitar up and start trying to learn it again, maybe he'll see that and decide to switch instruments :D
