it is the world itself that drains me of my sense of urgency
Yesterday, I left for work 15 minutes late, but was only 10 minutes late to work.
Today, I left for work 5 minutes early, but was still 5 minutes late.
To ride public transportation is truly to surrender oneself to blind, dumb gods of random chance.

And no matter how deep you bury your nose in a book, they will invariably sit down next to you and start talking. Because reading a book called, say, Structural Semantics is just a red flag saying "come distract me!"

Yeah, I had one the other day who said, "Wow, you're really interested in that book, aren't you?"

"Yup."

"Because you haven't looked up at all. You're just staring! That must really be a good book. I should write that one down."

I resisted the urge to tell him that this is how a person reads a book, by "staring" at it for a long period of time and not constantly looking around.

Hello,
I collect images of women on bicycles. You wouldn't happen to have a higher def image of this one, would you? If so, please do let me know. I'd love to print something for my bike shop. Thx JP
