Season finales are exploding all around us like tiny caged fireworks.

The "Gilmore Girls" finale was pretty good, but the best thing about it was seeing Sparks, Yo La Tengo, and Sonic Youth jamming away in Star's Hollow. K. and I couldn't believe how good Kim and Thurston still look.

"Veronica Mars" certainly went out with a bang. Great ending, whether it turns out to be just for the season or for the series as a whole. And it worked amazingly well even though I've only been watching regularly for the past month or so.

Is their daughter actually playing in band now? Or was that just for the show?

I have a pair of sepia sunglasses. Everything looks like antique photographs when I wear them!

Fun, interesting characters (three at the very least). Snappy, revealing dialogue. And a mix of storylines, some lasting only an episode, some developing over a season or two. And some genuinely suprising twists and turns.
