fall film season
There are so few films I'm looking forward to this season, far less than one a week.

"Elizabethtown" opens next week and I suppose I'll see it just because it's Cameron Crowe. I'm even more iffy about "Shopgirl" and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" out the week after that.

November has a little promise in Craig Lucas' "The Dying Gaul." Lucas wrote "Prelude to a Kiss" which is in my top thirty favorite films, but he his last film ("The Secret Lives of Dentists") wasn't that great. Michael Winterbottom's attempt to bring "The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman" (one of my favorite novels) to the big screen should at the very least be interesting.

December is likely to be quality with "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "King Kong," though I'm sure I'll be disappointed with the musical version of "The Producers," because the original is one of my all-time favorite movies and nobody else can do Gene Wilder's role.

Listening to: Thomas Dolby - "N.E.O."

Oooh, I forgot about "Capote." Yeah, I reckon I'll have to see that. Catherine Keener as Harper Lee!

I sort of liked the preview for "Thumbsucker," but Keanu's presence worries me.
