wayback wednesday
As you may remember, I was recently bummed that I missed a chance to see one of my favorite bands, Pas/Cal. Well, karma has indeed smiled upon me, because not only are they playing again at the end of the month, but two of my other favorite bands are playing with them. Trembling Blue Stars and the Sprites. And I've got to say, I love the Sprites even more than Pas/Cal. It's at the Rothko in New York and yes, I've already got tickets!

If anyone's curious, click these links to find mp3s of Pas/Cal, Trembling Blue Stars or the Sprites ("Bionic Hands" is awesome).

Meanwhile in Wayback Wednesday news, I've grown a bit tired of that tyre company calendar and have fortunately discovered a stash of old playmate of the month pics from the 60s and early 70s, before they became totally cheesey.

Here's Miss October 1960...

That's seriously iconic; you have transported me back to the days when there was no 'top shelf', and no such thing as pubic hair, let alone pudenda. Don't you think she looks more like a real woman too?

John Malone
a.k.a. smartarse.

P.S. How the hell do I register myself, as smartarse or anyone else?

Indeed. To register, just start yourself an LJ. It's free.
