I went to see an open reading that my friend was hosting last night. Listening to them read made me feel better about my own writing that I haven't worked on for ages. It made me think I should start working on something again. On the way home, I was full of ideas and snippets of dialogue that I thought were gems.

But when I sat down at the computer later and typed it in, it all sounded awful and stupid. What the hell happens to that prose between that moment of existing in my mind and the moment of being written down?

Bah... anyway, this picture reminded me of that old Roger Waters album cover The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking...
