Watched Midnight Cowboy last night. What a damn strange film that is. A relic from the days when an American film didn't have to be formulaic in order to get wide release. It was a little breathtaking how much love Jon Voigt had for Dustin Hoffman in that film. Manly, protective, and (I think) heterosexual love. It made me feel like I'm overly cynical, overly guarded. It was sorta... I don't know... profound. I might have to check out the novel it's based on.
