two wheel commute
Actually had to slam on my brakes twice this morning. Not sure if that means I'm riding faster or if today was just one of those days. The bike stopped nice and fast, no loss of control at all. Once was for a car running a red light and the other for a jay walker. It was a good ride otherwise, excepting the usual cars parked in the bike lane. Riding home can still be a challenge though because there isn't one street in Center City with a southbound bike lane, which combines with rush hour traffic to equal a lot of sidewalk riding.

It seemed pretty easy. I was actually kind of surprised by how fast I stopped. Didn't check for a skid....

Nice! Keep it up!

Do you have the usual complement of "safety" devices? horn or bell, lights? At least the blinky light on the back?

Seeing todays picture made me slam on the brakes!

I miss having good brakes on my bike. Nowadays, if I have any kind of speed going, I'm better off using my feet to stop.

I was instinctively doing that for a while, but I've now got total confidence in back pedal brakes.
