wayback wednesday
I was so happy with weighing in at 235 on monday that I haven't weighed myself since. I think that'll be my new policy: only weighing myself daily when I'm unhappy with the previous day's results.

I always think it's a bad idea to concentrate too closely on your actual weight when trying to slim down. I think it is best to consider your overall size. Like I don't celebrate pounds lost, I celebrate inches lost. someday I'd like to get back into a size 0... But keep doing what you are doing and you'll get to where you want to be.

Size 0 sounds imposssibly small. I feel like even children and babies shouldn't be able to get that tiny.

Oh, women's sizes are so ridiculous. Their just these arbitrary numbers that seem to change every few years anyway. Women who wear an 8 today would have fit into a 12 40 years ago. In a few years I'll be saying, "I wish I could fit into a -6..." I wish it were as simple as they size men's clothing.

I read someone's very sensible advice once that you should *never* weigh yourself, just stand naked infront of a full length mirror and jump up and down while flexing. When you're happy with the amount that jiggles, you're good. If not, you still have work to do.

But whatever. Good work! Keep it up. How much have you lost so far?

About ten pounds since mid-September. Definitely some more jiggle to go.

I would never, ever be done by this method. Weighing is only good if you just take it as a measure of progress but not the only end-all-be-all goal. But it can make you feel like you've got something done.

I'm strongly considering only weighing my self at my dojo, and maybe only once a week when I do it. That way it's the same time each week and it's sort of a status check. I don't know. I can't make up my mind which is better-I used to do once a week, then I heard that every day is better. I thought the weekly one was fine (even if it spared me the horror of weekend weight gain).

Weighing yourself at the dojo does sound good. Of course, any activity sounds cooler when it's at the dojo.

"Yeah, I was reading Proust at the dojo the other day."

I balanced my budget at the dojo the other day. Then I ate some organic cereal.

Congratulations!

Also, I hate you! I myself am clocking in at a robust 315.

Thanks, buddy.
